Aston Martin Vantage GT4: 2011 Specification Revealed

In a rare case of a road car improving the racing breed, next year’s Aston GT4 contender will feature revised aerodynamics and greater downforce, in part generated by the fitment of the V12 Vantage’s more pronounced rear bootlid spoiler.

Aston Martin Racing has built and sold more than 80 of the perfect ‘gentleman’s racer’ since its debut (as a 4.3-litre ‘N24’) in 2007. Now equipped with a 4.7-litre V8 (remapped for more power and torque in the latest racing version), the company’s contender for GT4 honours at races such as the Nürburgring and Spa 24 Hours, and the exclusive Aston Martin GT4 Challenge of Great Britain one-make series, has been extensively uprated.
A revised front splitter now channels air to a newly developed rear underfloor. The combination of this, a new carbonfibre rear diffuser and the bootlid ‘flipper’ spoiler, combine to give a much increased level of downforce.

Mechanically, in addition to more power, the 2011 car also benefits from a Bosch Motorsport-optimised, Bosch ABS and traction control system. This promises to give “race-enhanced performance in both wet and dry conditions”, so the company says.
